On January 25, 2008, The Madison Rotary Club held a World Bazaar Silent Auction at the Venture Out Business Center to raise money for the Rotary International Polio Plus Campaign. Items were donated from Rotary Clubs around the world, such as France, Argentenia, Denmark, Bangladesh, Romania, and many more.
The generosity of the Bangladesh Rotary Club was particularly moving in light of the devastation that that country has seen in loss of lives and property. In gesture of high regard and sincere appreciation for their contribution, $700 of the proceeds will go to a relief effort in Bangladesh being led by their Rotary Club. Two thousand dollars of the remaining funds raised will be given to the Rotary International Polio Plus campaign.
I Like Me! Project
Madison Rotary Club and Rotary member sponsors have completed another year of giving approximately 450 "I LIKE ME!" books to each kindergarten student in Jefferson County.
I LIKE ME! is a beautifully written and illustrated book that is individualized with names important to each individual student. The book encourages reading and emphasizes the worth of each individual student and includes a guide for their teachers for enhanced student enjoyment.
The books are given through the sponsorship and donations of individual Rotarians and Rotarian managed companies.Members enjoy the opportunity to hand out the books to every kindergarten child in Jefferson County classrooms.

Lide White Boys/Girls Club Christmas Party
Madison State Hospital Christmas Party
For over twenty years Madison Rotary Club has participated in a Christmas party held for patients at the Madison State Hospital.
Rotary, along with other service clubs and church groups, meet in the Assembly Hall for a short program including singing of Christmas songs. Then each group goes to their respective wards along with the sponsoring service club.
At the ward Rotary furnishes refreshments to 25 to 30 patients and games are played and singing of more Christmas songs.
Patients of the ward suggest a present they would like to have. Last year Rotary presented their ward with a microwave. The State Hospital also gives each patient a present which Rotary distributes.
